From developers:

Welcome! Thank you so much for the positive feedback on the last update released just a few days ago. We really enjoyed watching players experiment with new base parts, explore the improved aquatic environment in the Nautilon submarine, and share their up close encounters with fearsome underwater predators.

This week, the team continues to monitor the next update, fixing some issues and introducing the next community exploration mission.

Community Research Update

This week, Priest Entity Nada is reaching out to explorers for help with Polo's exploration missions. Their friend Gek, shaken by the events revisited by the time altering device, fell into an introspective mood and appears to have quit the project. Nada sets out to act quickly to overcome this - with the help of her galaxy traveler friends.

Nada asks the explorers to go to a strange, colorless planet and photograph the underwater fauna in its darkest depths. They suggest that proof of life, durable in the harshest environments, will keep Polos comfortable and hopefully work to restore their usual high spirits.

The synthetic life form of Polo has spawned a number of new collectibles for explorers to trade their Quicksilver for. Several new themed pool decorations are available, all with customizable palettes…

A living colony of delicate climbing corals.

Accumulation of water crystals, with an unusual marble color.

Blooming luminescent candelabra.

Clam that can be placed to encrust the walls of Travelers' bases.

A new underwater gesture is available to help underwater communication between divers:

Congratulations to the winners of the r/NoMansSkyTheGame/ Autumn art contest organized by the subreddit moderation team! We saw some impressive player talent brought on by the competition, but we especially liked the winning entry: it's an atmospheric rendition of /u/MisterKrane's bio-horror.

Showcasing talent in a completely different environment: New York-based band Weird At Last wrote this fun song about No Man's Sky:

We also love this dramatic underwater predator shot by @SpiffSnaps:

And we were very passionate about this reconstruction of the International Space Station /u/Foxhound922!

The space sandbox No Man's Sky provides players with a whole universe of possibilities. It often happens in such games that you cannot foresee what situation you will be in and how much effort you will need to expend to get one or another result. Everything is done exactly so that the player he will explore the huge world and learn various mechanics.Of course, they will give you the most important information, but then everything depends on you. That is why the GoHa.Ru portal has collected the most useful tips for beginners in No Man`s Sky. before you go to the center of the universe fully armed with knowledge.

#1 Save inventory space

You will always run out of space in your inventory, so get into the good habit of not picking up any trash. During a land expedition, some of the finds can be sent to the ship, but even there the place ends almost instantly. By the way, it is better to send the most valuable things for sale. Iron and carbon can be found on any planet in the right amount, and create bypass modules and other consumables as needed.

To increase your inventory, explore new planets - there will sometimes come across buildings in which the computer will offer to increase the carrying capacity by one cell for a fee.

#2 Make friends and learn languages

Everything is like in our life. Do not miss special terminals to learn new words of a particular faction, and if necessary, visit additional colonies for this. The "Stones of Knowledge" on the planets will also help you with this, they will teach you one alien word. Talk to aliens more often, find out their aspirations and values, and don't forget to give gifts. Over time, they will get used to you and reciprocate. In the future, this will simplify trade and allow you to receive expensive services for free.

#3 A spaceship is not a Roach. Doesn't always move

Try not to stray too far from your ship when disembarking. Try to get around everything in the area, and then return and fly to a new place. This will significantly save time exploring the next planet. Of course, you can call the ship, but you need to be near a special lighthouse, and you will also need a bypass module, which will not be a problem to create.

#4 Beware of Guardians

Almost every planet in the galaxy is patrolled by Sentinel drones. They don’t care about you exactly until the moment when you start to get impudent and extract too many resources right under their noses. Over time, you will develop a good habit of not touching anything on the ground under this characteristic mechanical sound. In this case, he will call his comrades-in-arms, and they will ask you in full. Of course, you can easily deal with several drones, even with a basic modification of the blaster, but it's not worth the risk and it's better to immediately get out of the conflict by hiding in the bushes or a cave. Soon they will lose interest in you and go on patrol.

PS: Titanium and expensive electronics are mined from Guardians. Show them who the daddy is here and earn 5 Star Pursuit like in Grand Theft Auto

#5 Don't be greedy and feed the wild animals, unless they try to eat you, of course.

If you pay enough attention to the creature, it can befriend you and even help you discover exotic minerals like Omegon or Calium. Even if not, then you will have a pleasant companion on a journey around the planet, and there you look and comes down for the most part with some valuable resource.

#6 Through orbit, you can get to a distant point on the planet much faster

It happens that when you arrive on the planet you decide to break away to another place. Some players will use the jetpack and spend an incredible amount of time, others will go to the point on their spaceship, flying in the atmosphere, and the smartest ones will go into space and fly in orbit to the desired point in a few seconds. Now you have a choice how to cheat the planet's gravity

#7 Speculate in the market and earn more

If you are faced with a shortage of units, then you can sell the Atlas stone, and if you have long chosen the professions of the gnome race in Lineage 2, then you can easily make a fortune in this game. With due patience, it is possible to play big and create a shortage of certain goods and trade with station visitors.

Remember that each system has its own pricing policy, and it is always best to visit the stations with merchants first and only after that go to explore the area around. In this sequence, it will be possible to extract much more profit from the search and collection of resources and valuable things.

#8 Remember to save. Come back for your things after death

Well, it happens that on some planet you encountered a very strong creature, and your remains remained lying on the ground. There are no save buttons in No Man`s Sky, but you can save for certain important actions, such as entering and exiting the ship. On the planets, you can find special places where progress is saved automatically. After death, do not forget to return to the place of death and collect your good.

#9 Don't Forget to Improve

The success of your trip depends on many factors, and equipment plays an important role. Almost all of your belongings and the ship itself can be modified in a thousand different ways. You will find many blueprints, but just imagine what kind of researcher you will be so that improvements develop your strengths.

#10 Be yourself or be a real pirate

Valuable cargo can be obtained in a variety of ways. Don't be shy about the mining method - break through the cargo bays of merchant ships, warehouses on planetary bases and simply rob single spaceships.. If you have already embarked on this path, then follow it to the end.

As you probably already know in No Man's Sky, there are three races of highly evolved creatures that you will encounter most often: Huck, Vy'kin, and Korvax. Naturally, the aliens do not know English, and they cannot even connect three words in Russian, so to communicate with them you will need to learn alien languages.

Why is this even necessary, besides the fact that you will be able to talk with cute aliens? First, when talking to the Vy'kin, Korvax, or Gek, you'll need to choose the correct answers, which will give you some nice rewards. The better you know the language, the clearer the question will be. If you choose the wrong answer, you may even lose reputation points with one faction or another. Secondly, knowledge of languages will help you in doing business with aliens.

Ways to learn alien languages

There are several methods for teaching languages to aliens, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. All of them will be discussed below.

Search for Atlas interfaces

In the interfaces of the Atlas, you can find small luminous orbs, when taken, you will automatically learn a new word in an alien language. One ball contains one word. At the station, you can find at least 5 such spheres, and, therefore, you can learn 5 new words.

Thus, if you want to quickly learn an alien language, then you should seriously look into the search for Atlas interfaces.

The use of stone pillars

On many planets in No Man's Sky you can find strange stone pillars (monuments). When interacting with them, the character learns one new word. If you want to find all these mysterious architectural monuments as quickly as possible, then you should set your Scanner to search for them.

Visiting space stations

At many space stations, players will have to converse with various aliens. During these small dialogues, you can learn a lot about the language of the aliens, but only if you give the correct answer to the question posed.

In general, the better you know the language of aliens, the easier it will be for you to communicate with them. Most of the aliens are friendly guys who will gladly share their blueprints or useful information with you, so try to engage in conversation with Gek, Vy'kin and Korvaks at any opportunity.

Game tested on PlayStation 4

In the era of game-services and the developed Internet, developers can constantly release updates and actively support their projects. Some people achieve immediate success and keep the audience through the release of add-ons and major patches, losing popularity very slowly. Someone starts off badly, but does not stop there and continues to make changes and improvements. And someone is not lucky at all, and attempts to fix something lead to nothing.

The second category usually falls into large publishers and developers who have a large enough budget to support a not-so-successful release. But small indie studio teams can sometimes boast of the same tenacity. Among them is Hello Games, which released the ambitious No Man's Sky two years ago. And for twenty-four months, its employees did everything possible to make disappointed fans forgive them for the many broken promises.

Homecoming

The biggest update the game received this summer is called No Man’s Sky NEXT and brings many long-awaited changes to the space wanderer simulator. One of the main ones is support for a cooperative mode and the ability to meet other travelers in endless space. However, the developers did not completely reshape the game mechanics - in many respects it remained the same as before, it just appeared much more opportunities and freedom. And for some it will be a plus, but for others it will seem like a reason to continue not to pay attention to the game.

You still start on an unknown planet, repair your ship, mine resources, use those resources to support life support systems, and then go into space and you can fly in any direction. One's journey will begin in a most beautiful place where it rains only occasionally, and the rest of the time it's hard to stop admiring the pretty plants and plains flooded with bright light. For others, luck will pass by, and they will have to survive in not the most pleasant conditions, with periodic storms and storm winds.

And over time, you realize that Hello Games has not gotten rid of the ill-fated “grind”, it still underlies the game. Here you can’t just run around the planet and look at the surroundings, just as you can’t just get into a starship at any moment and fly wherever your eyes look. You constantly need resources - to restore the suit, to protect against storms, to refuel the ship with fuel, to create tools, to use multi-tool modifications. Over time, these processes will not be so exhausting, but for too long you have to run around the planets and burn trees, bushes and stalagmites.

Space stations are full of space aliens, some even willing to work for you

The monotonous content of the planets has not gone anywhere - wherever you go, you will almost always find the same resources. Vegetation may look different, but for its destruction you get the same thing that you scored inventory on the last fifty planets. The sandstorms, acid rains, radioactive storms and other weather phenomena mentioned above do not differ from each other at all - they equally reduce the strength of the suit and end in a few seconds, and you can wait them out in any house or in a neighboring cave.

If there is no way to get rid of the second problem, there is a solution for the first. In one of the past updates, No Man's Sky added several modes, among which there is "Creation". This is a kind of creative mode, in which you practically do not have to worry about resources. Want to fix a broken ship with dozens of non-functioning parts? Just click on everything and repair. Would you like to place a base with many rooms, compartments, floors and stairs? Just choose what you want and bet. There are no problems with the suit, no fall damage, no need to think about fuel and everything else.

Yes, in this mode the game becomes completely different and loses many elements. From a wanderer surviving on the planets, who appreciates any crumbs of resources and tries not to waste time, you turn into an ordinary traveler. But without the grind, I personally found the game much more exciting. When developers talk about 18 quintillion planets that differ from each other in appearance, flora and fauna, the last thing you want to do is linger in one place, looking for resources for a long and painful time, earning currency and doing trade. It's hard to fight the urge to explore everything this gigantic universe has to offer.

Lepota

The process of exploration has become even more exciting than before. Being able to board a ship, fly off one planet and land on another without any loading screens is just as impressive as it was two years ago. But with the latest updates, these celestial bodies have become more beautiful and diverse - in NEXT, for example, they introduced planets completely covered with water, and landing on them is problematic. The visual design has improved markedly, the lighting is pleasing to the eye, and with a third-person view, walking among previously unseen plants and creatures is much more pleasant.

The main objective of No Man's Sky has not changed - in order to complete the game, you need to get to the center of the galaxy. However, for those who prefer to complete quests rather than entertain themselves, a full-fledged storyline has recently been available with fun tasks, dialogues, a couple of interesting characters and training in some mechanics. At some point, you will be asked to build a base, then they will force you to hire specialists for the terminals placed in different rooms, and after that, the hired creatures will also begin to fill you with assignments. All this can be done both in normal mode and in Creation, and to complete some quests, you will have to search and collect all kinds of rubbish even in creative mode.

With the release of NEXT, all restrictions on the construction of the base were removed from the players. Although this element of the game goes against the main idea of No Man's Sky (traveling through star systems and finding the center of the Galaxy), it is possible to ignore the global goal and engage in trade or construction within several systems, visiting only neighboring planets. Now you can build bases even under water - I placed mine on a small island in the middle of a huge sea, placing terminals on land and transferring landing sites to water, building fortifications and a couple more rooms under them. It turned out to be compact and pretty, although, of course, there is no limit to perfection in this game.

Building your base is more fun in co-op, and the latest update added the ability to team up with up to three teammates in one session. You can always see each other, you can interact, including gestures, and also transfer ship improvements and all kinds of resources from a single game to a joint game in order to transfer them to your colleagues. For example, you have been playing for a long time and have accumulated a lot of upgrades for the starship, and your partner flies on the "trough" without any modifications - you can help the poor guy make his ship cooler.
